Foot Drop & Fatigue

What is Foot Drop & Fatigue?

→ Foot drop is a condition in which a person has difficulty lifting the front part of the foot due to weakness or paralysis of the muscles involved in dorsiflexion. This leads to dragging of the foot while walking and a high-stepping gait. Fatigue, on the other hand, is a state of extreme physical or mental tiredness that reduces a person’s ability to perform daily activities efficiently. Both conditions are commonly associated with neurological or muscular disorders and can significantly affect mobility and quality of life.

Causes

→ Neurological disorders (stroke, multiple sclerosis)

→ Muscular disorders

→ Muscle weakness

→ Numbness or tingling (in some cases)

Diagnosis

→ Clinical examination by doctor

→ Electromyography (EMG)

→ MRI / CT scan (if needed)

→ Blood tests (to identify underlying cause)
